How we make money

The service is free for homeowners. Participating installers may pay Heat Pump Toronto — for example for requests they receive, a membership, or completed work. We tell you this so you can judge our service with that relationship in mind.

How installers are matched

Installers are matched to your request by facts: the area they serve, the work they are approved for, their verified licence and insurance, and their availability. Payment doesn’t change the order in which installers are shown or chosen. If we ever offer paid placement, it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored".

We are independent

Heat Pump Toronto is an independent company. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Enbridge Gas, Save on Energy, the Government of Ontario or Natural Resources Canada. Program names and trademarks belong to their owners. Unless we say otherwise, we don’t receive payment from equipment manufacturers, and brand names in quotes come from the installers.

Estimates are estimates

  • Rebate estimates are based on the program rules published at the time we last checked them, shown with that date. They are not program approval; the program sets the final amount.
  • You pay your installer the full price; the program mails the rebate to you as a cheque after installation.
  • Cost information is illustrative and is not a quote. Only installers give quotes.

Reviews and endorsements

We don’t pay for reviews or write them for others. If we ever show an endorsement from someone with a connection to us, we’ll say so next to it.
